From the north, Gosforth is the gateway to Wasdale and Eskdale, the former with its beautiful quiet lake and breathtaking views of Great Gable and Scafell.
The sea is about two miles from Gosforth and at low tide there are clean beaches with expanses of sand on which to play and walk.
Our holiday houses are ideally situated for walkers, with the whole of the quieter western valleys close by and the great central fells in Wasdale and Ennerdale. Dick, who knows the area well, is happy to discuss plans for walking, with lots of routes to recommend for all ages and abilities.
The area around Gosforth also has a good range of eating places for anyone who does not want to cook while on holiday. Golf, fishing and horse riding are also on offer in the local area.
The Lake District has much to offer and we are well placed for trips to other Lake District areas - it's less than an hour's drive to Keswick and Coniston and day trips are easily done to Windermere, Ambleside and Ullswater. Of course the scenery on the drive is beautiful!
The pottery has lots of information on local attractions and if you are staying here we can supply you with details of places to visit in the immediate location or the Lake District as a whole. If you would like these before you arrive please get in touch with us.
